The Gladbrook-Reinbeck community school district will be dismissing at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 25th. This is due to the prolonged heat exposure that has kept elevated temperatures and humidity levels in the buildings. Continue to encourage your students to hydrate! Take care and Go Rebels!

We are working on getting the food pantry at the JH/HS up and running for the current school year. This year the pantry will be run by our special education department as a learning experience for our students! In order for us to do this well, we are looking for donations. In addition to food items, we also house hygiene products for those who need. By doing these small things for our kids they feel at home here and look at us as a Safe Haven for them. We have some students who look forward to coming back to school just to have a routine, a good meal, and someone to listen to them when they need an ear. Without the help of our wonderful community we could never make all of this work! Items donated can be dropped off at the JH/HS main office. #rebelnation #rebelsrising #GoRebels

Twas the night before school, in Rebel Nation The Rebels were buzzing, with excitement all around. Backpacks were packed, pencils neatly in a row, In anticipation of a new year's glow. The children were nestled, each snug in their beds, With visions of classrooms inside their heads. And as the moon rose, casting a soft, gentle light, They settled in for the pre-school night. In the heart of the district, with colors so true, The Blue and White Rebels, ready to pursue. The Elementary held the promise of dawn, Bright murals and posters, a place to be drawn. The laughter of children, a symphony so sweet, As they learned and they played, in their tiny seats. The Secondary stood tall, a beacon of growth, Where minds would expand, filling knowledge's troth. Lockers lined the hallways, like Rebels in line, As the bell's timely chime signaled the time. As the night settled in, a figure appeared, Santa himself, with his mission quite clear. The superintendent, in a jolly disguise, With a sack full of supplies, a twinkle in his eyes. He sprang from his sleigh, to the schoolyard he flew, With a list of to-dos and a red pen, it's true. He checked every classroom, tidied every space, Ensuring all was ready for the students' embrace. The work was stacked, assignments aligned, In hopes that learning would be a joyous find. And the bells, they stood ready, to ring out with glee, A symphony of education, from A to Z. With a nod of his head and a hearty "Go Rebels Go!!", He completed his rounds, ready to go. Back to his sleigh, to his reindeer so quick, He sprang with a flourish, as if to a magic trick. And I heard him exclaim, as he soared out of sight, "Happy first day of school, and to all a goodnight! May the Rebels of Gladbrook-Reinbeck shine bright, In their quest for knowledge, reaching for the height!"
