Junior High Final Softball Game. Today G-R comprised of 9- 7th graders and 2- 8th graders faced off against a North Tama team that had a solid team with some 8th graders that also start on the varsity HS team for the Redhawks. From Coach Thede--> Our middle school softball team put together another strong performance, showing continued growth, determination, and teamwork from start to finish. Laney Mendenhall had a good day in the circle and on the field, leading with confidence. Kylie Presar showed tremendous toughness behind the plate.
Offensively, the entire lineup contributed with strong at-bats and quality contact. Runs were scored by Kylie, Justin Mathern, Quinn Thede, Laney, and Julia Muller and as the team continued to put pressure on the defense. One of the biggest moments of the game came when Grace Bowser delivered a clutch hit that drove in the game-tying run, sparking excitement and showcasing the team's never-give-up attitude. It was a solid season and we are excited about the future. #rebelnation

G-R JH Softball Today at Grundy Center. The final score didn't reflect the tremendous improvement our team showed today as even the strong hitting of the Rebels as we finished with 7 hits in 5 innings. Coach Thede comments that the girls continue to grow, compete, and put together quality innings on both offense and defense. Offensively, we strung together several good at-bats and collected some nice hits from Justin Mathern, Kylie Presar, and Julia Muller. Julia had a big day at the plate, driving in two runs for the team. Overall, our bats looked much improved, and the girls did a great job putting the ball in play.
Defensively, Kinlee Eckhoff and Julia teamed up for a nice out after forcing a runner into a pickle. Justin was strong in the circle, recording two strikeouts and making a heads-up play by picking off a runner at third with Laney Mendenhall. Haylee Husmann also put together a solid inning behind the plate, doing a great job catching and supporting her pitcher. While the scoreboard wasn't in our favor, the effort, improvement, and teamwork were evident throughout the game. We are proud of the progress these girls continue to make and are excited to see them keep building on it!

Rebel Nation,
We have some information regarding home HS home baseball games coming up:
***Tuesday June 23 (tomorrow) will be youth baseball night as we host Columbus Catholic. This will be for grades 1st through 6th that are in youth baseball.
Youth players are asked to wear their game shirt/jersey into the game as that will count as their admission for tomorrow night.
We are asking for them to be at the field by 6:15 PM as they will have the opportunity to be in the dugout while the varsity goes through their warm ups. They can also make a tunnel leading onto the field as varsity players take the field before the National Anthem.
***Monday June 29 will be Parents Night for HS baseball. We will recognize players that are playing HS baseball this season and their parents/guardians. This will take place before varsity lineups are announced.
Thank you and go Rebels!
