Big thank you to Jenny Hulme from the Tama County Extention office, who came 3 different times this trimester (to meet with all kids) to do a financial simulation with the 7th graders. I think many lessons were taught during this time 💙

Rebel Nation,
Tomorrow is the final day for the Kids Heart Challenge with the American Heart Association! Our kids have raised over $3,100 in support of helping others! That is outstanding!
Mr. Grooms wore a duck suit today during lunch and will be wearing it again tomorrow morning during breakfast time!

Rebels,
As I’ve been working to share information about our upcoming PPEL election, a few things have become very clear to me:
1️⃣ Our Rebel Community is passionate. No matter where people stand on an issue, they care deeply about our schools and our future.
2️⃣ Information can sometimes be misrepresented or interpreted differently. My goal is to provide clear, accurate details so everyone can make informed decisions.
3️⃣ No matter our differences, we are one community. We are the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels, and everyone who lives in our district is a part of this community.
I know there’s been a lot of information to take in, and it can feel overwhelming. To help, I will be sending out a district-wide email with the full message, linking it below, and sharing key points in this post. I’ll continue posting updates, addressing questions, and making corrections if needed to ensure transparency.
At the end of the day, my hope is simple: that our entire community takes pride in being a Rebel. And at the very least, that we all take pride in our schools and the students who make us who we are.

Thank you, and have a GReat day!
Caleb Bonjour

Gladbrook-Reinbeck CSD will be closed Wednesday. It will be a virtual learning day.

Rebel Nation,
The Kids Heart Challenge at GR elementary is coming to a close this Friday, February 14th!! We're currently at $2,600 of our $5,000 goal. We have a little ways to go yet, but we can do it!!
Here is what students have reached so far when it comes to milestones:
*Each class gets a free choice of activity in well-being class
*Highest earning class get to choose what Mr. Lehmann wears to school on a certain day
*Students will get to cover Mr. Grooms and the American Heart Association director in silly string
If we get to the following milestones, the following activities will occur:
*$3,000 - Mr. Grooms will wear a duck costume to school
*$4,000 - Mr. Lehmann and a staff member will get a pie in their face
*$5,000 - Mr. Grooms will get turned into a human ice cream sundae
There are some GReat milestones left to accomplish and there's still time to get signed up. We can do it! Go Rebels!
