On Friday, the high school students who qualified for state speech did a walk through at the elementary. This allowed our students and staff to acknowledge their accomplishments and help send them into the competition with positive energy! Go Rebels!

📢 Why is GR considering an increase in the voted PPEL? 📢 In November, the GO Bond Referendum did not pass, meaning critical facility needs must be addressed immediately to bridge the gap until future plans can be introduced. The voted PPEL provides a funding source to help maintain and improve infrastructure. 🔹 Immediate need items the PPEL funding will help us to address: - HVAC Issues due to our system that is original to the 1921 building - Temperature regulation improvements - Lower Gym Ceiling - Concerning Locker Room Safety issues - Continued Roofing Updates as Scheduled/Recommended - Replacing damaged concrete - Continuing security upgrades - Peeling paint mitigation - Removal, possible abating, and replacement of deteriorating tile floors - Furniture needs and classroom improvements The voted PPEL can only be used for infrastructure, transportation, and equipment needs—it cannot fund salaries, classroom materials, or daily operations. 📅 The measure will be on the March 4th ballot. Some voting details - - Absentee ballots will begin to be sent February 11th - Tama Co Courthouse is closed February 17th - February 18th is the last day to request an absentee ballot - All ballots must be received by March 4th - Polls are open 7 A.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday March 4th - A written application for a mailed absentee ballot must be received by the voter's County Auditor no later than 5:00 p.m. February 18th.
