Today we had our Ag in the Classroom for January. Today the third grade students learned about dairy cows. We watched some videos from Hansen Dairy. We learned that dairy cows have one baby a year, the mama is pregnant for nine months, a baby calf weighs between 80-100 pounds when born, and a dairy calf can produce up to 10 gallons on milk a day.
Our activity today was to make ice cream!!!! The kids had lots of fun making ice cream in a bag and being able to eat it!
