As I am sure many of you know, the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Boys Basketball team has qualified for the state tournament. The Rebels will take on Marquette Catholic on Monday, March 4th at 2:00 PM at Wells Fargo Arena. To allow all Rebel fans to attend, we have made the following adjustments for the Week of March 4th:
*No School Monday, March 4th.
*The second round game is scheduled for 7:15 PM on Wednesday, March 6th, so we will not have a schedule change for Wednesday in the event that we win on Monday.
*The championship game is scheduled for Friday, March 8 at 1:00 PM. If we are playing in the championship game, we would not have school on Friday. If that occurs, we will share a separate notification on Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
We will hold a brief pep rally/send off at 10:10 AM in the Secondary School Gym on Monday, March 4th. Following the pep rally, the bus will be escorted out of town.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these changes to allow everyone the opportunity to cheer on the Rebels!

Our 3 day PM class is having lots of Seuss fun! Racing cars for GO DOG GO, making treats in our Truffala Treat shop, making socks for FOX IN SOCKS!
It's Dr Seuss Week at Little Rebels Preschool. We are having lots of fun playing in our red and blue pluffle in our sensory table, serving up sweet treats in our Truffala Treat Ice Cream Shop, and creating fun items in our Thingamajig center!!!

The elementary book fair is officially open! Stop by today during elementary conferences or the rest of the week before and after school. The fair will officially close Friday, March 1 at 4pm.

Today we had a Winn Dixie party in third grade. Earlier in the trimester we read the book aloud. Today we watched the movie and talked about how they were alike and different. We even had some treats at our party today like they did in the book!
On Wednesday the third grade students had Ag in the Classroom. This month we learned about sheep and wool. Thanks to Grundy County Farm Bureau and Shari Bakker for making this program possible for our students!

To work around finals, GR FFA will celebrate National FFA Week (which is currently happening) next week, February 26-March 1! We have a super fun week of activities planned out, and are very excited to celebrate! See the flyer below for details on how to see us in action!

The GR Rebel boys basketball team defeated Keota, 67-62 to win the District 11 championship. They now move onto the substate 6 final. We will face Kee on Saturday, February 24th at 7PM. The game will be played at Waterloo East High School. Tickets are now available to purchase.
For the substate game, they are $8 plus fees. Tickets can be purchased using the link below. NO CASH will be accepted.
We are also working with KDAO Radio to see if a video livestream will be possible for those that aren't able to make it on Saturday. Stay tuned for updates on that.

First grade this morning warmed up by playing Around the World. This game involves dice, math, and collecting legos. We finished class by working on our over hand throwing skills and trying to knock down a target which was a bowling pin.
